Road Towards Bangladesh 2030: Readiness and Priorities for Digital Transformation

In a recent "Bangladesh Miracle Series" webinar, Anir Chowdhury (Policy Advisor, a2i) outlined the strategic roadmap for Bangladesh 2030. Innovision highlights that the 8th Five Year Plan (8FYP) focuses on a "Five Helix Approach," fostering deep cooperation between industry, academia, government, and civil society. This Digital Transformation aims to turn high-tech parks into the nucleus of a knowledge economy, leveraging 4IR technologies to ensure the nation’s equitable share in the global digital value chain.

The webinar underscored that broadband has become a lifeline, yet a significant divide remains: 80% of primary students lack reliable internet. With 43 million students needing remote learning access, broadband equity is essential for inclusive growth. Innovision advocates for intensifying private investment and redesigning local innovation systems to harness the power of ICT. By bridging the connectivity gap and empowering youth through start-up success creation, the path toward Bangladesh 2030 will be defined by transparency, good governance, and socio-economic adaptability.
