Job Description

  • Position Title: Associate – Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
  • Reports to: Portfolio Manager, Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Location: Head Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Associate – Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) will be a core member of Innovision’s M&E portfolio, supporting the design and implementation of mixed-method research, evaluations, and learning engagements. The role spans multi-sectoral assignments including social protection, poverty graduation, skills and employment, WASH, DRR/CCA, governance, private sector development, nutrition, and climate resilience.

The position requires strong technical expertise in M&E frameworks, high attention to detail, and the ability to operate in fast-paced project environments. The Associate will work closely with the Portfolio Manager and multidisciplinary teams, engage with clients, and translate complex findings into actionable insights. Strong communication, coordination, and mentoring skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Research, Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Conduct desk reviews and synthesize evidence from project documents, evaluations, baseline/endline datasets, and secondary literature.
  • Support the development of research designs, sampling frameworks, theories of change, logframes, and analytical plans for mixed-method studies.
  • Contribute to the design of quantitative and qualitative data collection tools aligned with frameworks such as OECD-DAC, UNDP RRF, GESI, food security indicators (HDDS/MDD-W), and climate resilience metrics.
  • Design database structures and manage data entry using MS Excel, SPSS, STATA, or other relevant software.
  • Coordinate fieldwork planning across multiple districts, including logistics, enumerator mobilization, and stakeholder communication.
  • Deliver training to enumerators on survey tools, ethical protocols, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Oversee field operations to ensure sampling integrity, data quality standards, and respondent protection.
  • Conduct real-time data quality monitoring using digital platforms such as KoBo and SurveyCTO.
  • Conduct field visits as required for project oversight and verification.
  • Clean and analyze quantitative datasets, generate summary tables, and align findings with indicator frameworks.
  • Conduct qualitative coding and thematic analysis for KIIs, FGDs, and case studies using structured analytical approaches.
  • Support econometric and statistical analysis (e.g., DID, PSM, trend analysis, descriptive comparisons) under senior guidance.
  • Prepare analytical write-ups, data visualizations, interpretation notes, and inputs for draft and final reports.
  • Synthesize quantitative and qualitative findings into clear, actionable insights for clients and stakeholders.
  • Support preparation of inception reports, field manuals, pretesting summaries, and midline/endline evaluation reports.

Project and Portfolio Support

  • Support project management functions including work planning, progress tracking, meeting documentation, and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain structured communication with field teams, consultants, and local partners to ensure timely execution.
  • Support internal knowledge management by ensuring proper documentation and archival of project materials.
  • Balance multiple assignments and shifting priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.

Business Development

  • Support capture and business development efforts through background research, donor intelligence, competitor analysis, and partnership mapping.
  • Contribute to technical proposal writing, including methodology sections, sampling strategies, team composition notes, and past performance narratives.
  • Maintain and update repositories of sector-specific evidence, frameworks, case studies, and Innovision’s past performance.
  • Assist with pipeline tracking, proposal packaging, and internal quality assurance processes.
  • Participate in client meetings, pitch discussions, and concept note development as required.

Knowledge, Learning & Team Development

  • Engage in structured learning agendas including advanced analytics, evaluation frameworks, GIS, data visualization, and sectoral deep-dives.
  • Participate in internal learning sessions, peer reviews, and M&E team capability-building initiatives.
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Pursue continuous professional development aligned with Innovision’s growth trajectory and global evaluation standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Development Studies, Statistics, Anthropology, Public Policy, Agricultural Economics, Sociology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in monitoring & evaluation, research, or impact assessment roles.
  • Strong technical expertise in M&E frameworks, theory of change development, logframes, and impact measurement.
  • Experience with digital data collection tools (KoBoCollect, SurveyCTO, ODK) and dashboard development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong foundation in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of SPSS, STATA, and/or R.
  • Experience with qualitative analysis software such as NVivo or ATLAS.ti (preferred).
  • Strong facilitation, training, and field coordination skills.
  • Experience working on donor-funded projects and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in designing research methodologies and contributing to multiple proposals.
  • Ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into concise, high-quality outputs.
