Necessity of Youth Empowerment for Today’s Competitive Job Market: Skill is Strength

With over two million new jobseekers entering the labor market annually, Innovision emphasizes that Youth Empowerment through targeted training is the only way to thrive in today’s economy. Our latest study assesses the impact of large-scale Skill development projects across three divisions of Bangladesh. The research highlights that marginalized youths who received technical and soft skills training experienced significant shifts in employment status, with the majority securing income-generating activities within months of completion.

Findings reveal critical gaps in the Job Market. Lack of physical training centers with modern equipment remains a barrier to mastery. Furthermore, the unemployment rate and income levels show a stark gender disparity, with male participants reporting nearly twice the average monthly income of their female counterparts due to restrictive social norms.

Innovision recommends that future TVET programs prioritize market-aligned equipment and gender-inclusive outreach to bridge these gaps. By addressing the specific needs of female youths and improving infrastructure, the government and employers can ensure the efficient utilization of Bangladesh’s massive human resource.
