Amitav is a seasoned Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and research professional with over a decade of experience leading Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Adaptation (MERLA) systems for complex, multi-stakeholder development programs. His portfolio spans inclusive education, disability inclusion, climate resilience, livelihoods, economic empowerment, gender-based violence, dignified work, governance, and social protection. He has led high-impact evaluations and assessments for major development partners including USAID, UNICEF, the European Union, Global Affairs Canada, and the Government of Bangladesh. Amitav is also skilled in leveraging digital M&E systems for adaptive learning, a specialist in results-based management, theory of change development, data visualization, and qualitative and quantitative research, Amitav is also skilled in leveraging digital M&E systems for adaptive learning. In addition to technical leadership, Amitav brings deep experience in capacity building, knowledge management, and evidence-based strategy, with a strong track record of influencing policy and programming in inclusive development. He holds Master’s degrees in Development Studies and Political Science.
