Job Description

  • Position Title: Associate – Gender and Basic Services (GBS)
  • Reports to: Portfolio Manager, Gender and Basic Services
  • Location: Head Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Type: Full-time

Position Summary

The Associate – Gender and Basic Services (GBS) will play a key role in executing research, technical assistance, and project management assignments. The position requires strong skills in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including sampling strategies, large-scale data analysis, and gender-sensitive analytical frameworks. The Associate will support proposal development, client engagement, and high-quality report writing to strengthen Innovision’s positioning as a thought leader in gender and basic services.

The role is best suited for someone with proven research and analytical expertise, hands-on experience with data collection and analysis tools, and the ability to deliver insights through a gender lens. Strong communication and writing skills in both English and Bangla are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Proactively identify and pursue partnership opportunities with local and international stakeholders.
  • Support the development of proposals, including methodology design, budgeting, and work planning, in collaboration with team members and external consultants.
  • Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective clients.
  • Represent and promote the organization in relevant forums and meetings.

Research and Data Analysis

  • Strong understanding of research methodologies, experience in designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative studies, formative research, intersectional analysis, household surveys, and case studies.
  • Conduct secondary research and analysis to identify knowledge gaps and inform further study.
  • Lead and support field data collection, including team supervision and stakeholder interviews.
  • Ensure quality data collection, validation, cleaning, and entry for both qualitative and quantitative assessments.
  • Conduct data analysis using relevant tools and software.
  • Assist in drafting research reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
  • Contribute to the timely and quality delivery of project milestones.

Knowledge Management

  • Update and maintain organizational documents and databases, including past proposals, project descriptions, client data, and other relevant information.
  • Streamline future bidding processes through the provision of accurate and up-to-date resources.

Communications Support

  • Assist in the implementation of the organization’s communications strategy.
  • Develop content for social media and other external communication channels as assigned by the team leader.
  • Write-up on upcoming trends and analysis, using development and gender lens.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Population Sciences, Health Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Gender & Development Studies, Environmental Science, Economics, or other closely related disciplines from a reputed institution.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in research and data analysis.
  • Strong command of professional writing in both English and Bangla.
  • Practical knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Python).
  • Ability to design and manage CAPI tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox).
  • Familiarity with qualitative data analysis tools (e.g., Atlas.ti, NVivo) is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Prior networks with development professionals will be considered an advantage.
