1. Junior Associate – Data Analyst – Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Portfolio

The Junior Associate – Data Analyst will play the key role to illustrate the evidence-based decision-making process from the quantitative and qualitative data collection from the research and evaluation studies of the organization. Primary responsibility for this position will be designing data collection tools in digital platform, maintaining quality of the data collection during field work, provide feedback to the enumerators. On the other hand, this position will widely support to ensure quality reporting and presentation through data cleaning, and generating tables/output/reports and necessary action points from the data analysis. The role demands strong technical proficiency in data cleaning, analysis and visualization tools, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. The Data Analyst will be reported to the Data Manager and closely work with field teams, Associates, and Project manager to ensure data-driven planning, implementation, and evaluation across projects.

Job Description

  • Position: Junior Associate – Data Analyst
  • Reports to: Data Manager
  • Location: Head Office, Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

Design Digital Data Collection Tools

  • Contribute to design survey instruments and data collection questionnaires/tools in digital platforms by collaboration with project leads.
  • Prepare a data collection form (as required in the questionnaire) using the digital platforms.
  • Contribute in testing the forms and finalize the digital data collection tools by incorporating all required logics.

Support Data Collection Process

  • Assist in creating data dictionaries, variable coding manuals, and data protocols.
  • Facilitate and orient the field enumerators about the digital data collection, technical knowledge on data submissions and necessary logics of the tools.
  • Contribute for the necessary modifications immediately comes from training session or form the pilot.

Data Quality

  • Organize feedback sessions with the field team to discuss data collection and error findings, and to ensure that the collected data meets quality standards and research objectives.
  • Support the enumerators and supervisors about data quality assurance processes during fieldwork.

Data Clean and Analysis

  • Manage databases and data systems including data validation, cleaning, and archiving.
  • Clean the raw dataset according to the protocol.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and outliers.
  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using software such as SPSS, STATA, R, or Python.
  • Contribute to generate tables, graphs or other visualizations required for the quality report.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field (relevant experience preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in data analysis, preferably research sector.
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., SPSS, STATA).
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis in Excel (like pivot table, correlation, regression, Vlookup, Xlookup, Power Query).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with designing tools in digital data collection platforms (e.g., SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox).
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQLserver, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with data cleaning processes and ability to prepare clean datasets in SPSS or STATA format.
  • Familiarity with data protection and ethical guidelines for handling sensitive information.
  • Experience with handled multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio.

2. Associate – Gender and Basic Services (GBS) Portfolio

The Associate – Gender and Basic Services (GBS) will have strong sampling and analytical background will support the execution of diverse research, technical assistance, and project management assignments under the GBS portfolio. The role requires a self-motivated team player with strong Bangla and English communication skills, committed to delivering high-quality proposals and research reports.

Key strengths will be considered if the Associate has prior experience of working in various gender sensitive theoretical framework & tools, strong sampling strategy for qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, able to analyze primary data and write meaningful narrative, keeping in mind the gender lens.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Proactively identify and pursue partnership opportunities with local and international stakeholders.
  • Support the development of proposals, including methodology design, budgeting, and work planning, in collaboration with team members and external consultants.
  • Maintain regular communication with existing and prospective clients.
  • Represent and promote the organization in relevant forums and meetings.

Research and Data Analysis

  • Strong understanding of research methodologies, experience in designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative studies, formative research, intersectional analysis, household surveys, and case studies.
  • Conduct secondary research and analysis to identify knowledge gaps and inform further study.
  • Lead and support field data collection, including team supervision and stakeholder interviews.
  • Ensure quality data collection, validation, cleaning, and entry for both qualitative and quantitative assessments.
  • Conduct data analysis using relevant tools and software.
  • Assist in drafting research reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products.
  • Contribute to timely and quality delivery of project milestones

Knowledge Management

  • Update and maintain organizational documents and databases including past proposals, project descriptions, client data, and other relevant information.
  • Streamline future bidding processes through the provision of accurate and up-to-date resources.

Communications Support

  • Assist in the implementation of the organization’s communications strategy.
  • Develop content for social media and other external communication channels as assigned by the team leader.
  • Write-up on upcoming trends and analysis, using development and gender lens.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Population Sciences, Health Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Gender & Development Studies, Biostatistics, or other closely related disciplines from a reputed institution.
  • 3-4 years of relevant experience in research and data analysis.
  • Strong command over professional writing in both English and Bangla.
  • Practical knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Python).
  • Ability to design and manage CAPI tools (e.g., Kobo Toolbox).
  • Familiarity with qualitative data analysis tools (e.g., Atlas.ti, NVivo) is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Prior networks with development professionals will be considered an advantage.
