Following its launch in Rangpur, Innovision and ShopUp have expanded the Porshi Project to Dinajpur, extending the initiative’s impact to a broader network of aspiring women entrepreneurs. Designed to empower women in semi-urban and rural areas, the Porshi Project supports participants to become mobile micro-retailers, enabling them to earn sustainable incomes through last-mile order collection and delivery within their communities.
The Porshi Project is a ShopUp-led initiative, supported by Mastercard Strive and the Gates Foundation, with Innovision as the implementation partner.
On May 10, 2025, Innovision and ShopUp conducted a one-day training session in Dinajpur to onboard a new group of Porshis. The training focused on digital and financial literacy, equipping participants with essential skills to navigate the Porshi app, place and receive orders, manage inventory, and understand credit limits. The sessions were designed to be interactive and engaging, incorporating ice-breaking activities and discussions around personal aspirations and community impact.
Through ShopUp’s B2B commerce platform, Mokam, these women gain access to a wide range of essential products, helping them strengthen customer relationships and secure steady incomes. After successfully onboarding over 400 women in Rangpur, the initiative now aims to empower 120 more in Dinajpur, fostering tech-enabled e-commerce ventures in rural markets.
The Dinajpur event was attended by Mamun Rashid, President of ShopUp; Ataur Rahman, Chairman of ShopUp; Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Director of Mastercard Strive; Afsana Zarin, Program Head of ShopUp; Md. Rubaiyath Sarwar, Managing Director of Innovision Consulting; and Md. Nazmul Ahsan, Portfolio Director of Innovision Consulting, whose presence reinforced the strong commitment behind the initiative.
