Innovision Partners with World Bank to Empower 25,000+ Ethiopian Women Through Climate-Resilient Livelihoods

Innovision Global Consulting Limited, UK, in partnership with Green Professional Service, Ethiopia, was jointly awarded by the World Bank Group for conducting the “Value Chain Analysis of Economic Sectors in Ethiopia for the Identification of Climate-Resilient Income Generating Activities Viable for Poor Women in the PSNP Programs.” This project aims to empower 25,000+ women in Ethiopia’s Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP), with a commitment to ensuring more than 50% female participation, by identifying sustainable livelihoods across climate-vulnerable regions.

Innovision will lead a comprehensive Value Chain Analysis (VCA) across six Ethiopian regions (Oromia, Addis Ababa, Amhara, South Ethiopia, Somali, and Tigray), using participatory, gender-sensitive approaches to:

🔹 Identify climate-resilient economic sectors suitable for women-led income-generating activities
🔹 Strengthen market linkages between PSNP women, cooperatives, financial institutions, and the private sector
🔹 Provide actionable recommendations for integrating women into high-potential, inclusive value chains

The project will enhance economic resilience by equipping women with the skills, knowledge, and resources needed for sustainable income-generating activities. It will promote climate adaptation by identifying and prioritizing sectors that are resilient to environmental shocks, ensuring that livelihoods can withstand changing climate conditions. By addressing structural barriers, the project will foster gender equity, enabling more women to actively participate in economic activities. Additionally, it will support scale and sustainability by developing inclusive, replicable models that can be adopted across PSNP communities in Ethiopia.

At Innovision, we work with governments, NGOs, and the private sector to build equitable economies where women are catalysts for transformation. Together, we’re turning climate challenges into opportunities for empowerment.
