Innovision Consulting, in partnership with Abt Associates, is implementing the USAID Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity (BNA). As part of this initiative, a two-day residential workshop was held on November 6-7, 2024, at Purbachol, Dhaka. The workshop brought together zonal managers, district officers, MEL officers, and project associates to reflect on the accomplishments of Year 6 (2023-2024) and strategize for Year 7 (2024-2025). Designed and facilitated by Dr. Anika Tahsin Khan, Team Lead & Head of Operations for the project, the event served as a platform to review previous activities, address challenges, share lessons learned, and plan for the upcoming year.
In Year 6, Innovision achieved significant milestones by collaborating with the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) to implement blended learning and action-oriented programs in 80 secondary schools. This included training 700 School Management Committee members, 160 club teachers, and 2,400 adolescent leaders while engaging 25,600 students in peer education on nutrition, water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and menstrual hygiene management (MHM). The project also pioneered the onboarding of 20 seed retailers for Pushti Maaths, piloted innovative IoT-based handwashing stations and a solar-powered Reverse Osmosis ATM, and launched a school-based climate adaptation campaign in partnership with private sector sponsors.
Building on these achievements, the workshop emphasized Innovision’s commitment to expanding the project’s reach in Year 7. The initiative will scale up to cover 150 secondary schools, training 300 new club teachers and 4,500 adolescent leaders while reaching 48,000 students through peer education. Offline LMS training will be introduced to support adolescent leaders from earlier-phase schools, and private sector-led activities will continue to drive action learning in nutrition, WASH, and MHM across all participating schools.
