Innovision Consulting recently concluded a pilot workshop aimed at empowering young women with comprehensive knowledge of reproductive health, using an innovative 3D tool called the ‘Vulva.’ This interactive tool was designed to educate female garment workers on female physiology, menstruation, hormonal cycles, and overall reproductive health—essential information that is often overlooked or misunderstood.
The workshop adopted a participatory approach, creating a comfortable, open space for women to learn, ask questions, and discuss their health and well-being. It focused on meeting the participants’ needs, ensuring that they could explore these topics without stigma or embarrassment. The workshop catered to female garment workers, divided into two age groups: under 25 and over 25 years of age.
The centerpiece of the workshop was the use of the ‘Vulva’ tool, a detailed 3D visual aid that explained female anatomy in an understandable and engaging way. As the tool projected various parts of the reproductive system, facilitators shared vital information on topics such as menstrual management, hormonal changes, puberty, and general reproductive health. Participants actively engaged in discussions and asked questions, fostering meaningful dialogue on reproductive health practices, menstrual hygiene, and well-being.
Pre- and post-session questionnaires were used to assess the workshop’s effectiveness. These questionnaires gauged the participants’ knowledge of female anatomy, menstrual management practices, understanding of menstrual products, and reflections on personal practices. The collected data will be analyzed to measure the workshop’s impact on participants’ understanding of their bodies and reproductive health.
Facilitators also provided feedback on the Vulva tool’s effectiveness, offering insights into how it could be improved for future sessions. Over the course of six sessions across three factories, the initiative reached 180 participants, ensuring broad engagement and detailed feedback.
The findings from this pilot are expected to contribute valuable insights into the effectiveness of 3D visual tools in educating women, particularly in underserved communities, about their reproductive health. Through initiatives like this, Innovision Consulting continues to lead efforts in advancing sustainable development through innovative educational approaches for women’s health.
