ADVANCED IRRIGATION SOLUTION IN KENYA

Under the Securing Water for Food Grand Challenge for Development, Innovision has been appointed by Islamic Relief-Kenya to devise a sales and marketing strategy for advanced irrigation solutions to facilitate farming practices in Kenya.

There are 5.4 million hectares of arable land in Kenya, only 4% of which is currently under irrigation, utilizing methods that are inefficient, environmentally unfriendly and costly for farmers. In partnership with SunCulture technology, a company that distributes solar irrigation kits to local farmers, Islamic Relief-Kenya looks to introduce the drip irrigation technology, AgroSolar, in the Kenyan market. The technology is designed to meet the needs of smallholder farmers and improve productivity and profitability.
