Innovision Consulting Private Limited organized a validation workshop titled ‘The Roles and Opportunities of the Private Sector in Agro Processing Industry in Bangladesh’ on September 24, 2016 in Ascott Palace situated in Baridhara Diplomatic Zone.
Funded by UKAid, Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), Katalyst contracted Innovision Consulting to undertake a study to identify potential areas of engagement for the private sector players in the agro-processing industry and the Ministry of Commerce. In the workshop, the findings of the study was presented, followed by open round discussion and validation. This study also provides a frame of reference for private organizations and agro-processors, development organizations and donors who want to ply the agro-processing industry. Rubaiyath Sarwar, the Managing Director of Innovision Consulting Private Limited conducted the workshop where government officials and representatives from various donor organizations were present.
The findings from the study are expected to provide strategic direction to build on future interventions towards deepening activities in the selected agro-processing subsectors in Bangladesh.
